Quarters From Kids is a nationwide, grassroots effort to engage young Americans, and adults who work with them, in a collective response to the Hurricane Katrina Disaster. The Quarters from Kids coalition was originally created to respond to the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia and is focusing its efforts right now on the urgent needs in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast states.

Connecting the idealism and activism of youth with the immediate and long-term needs of people and communities devastated by the hurricane will contribute funds to the relief and redevelopment efforts. This campaign is grounded in faith in young people. We know that as America.s youth learn how they can help, they take responsibility to help others through service and support.

More than 100 organizations dedicated to children . including educators, service organizations, social entrepreneurs, youth and child care organizations, colleges, and schools working with millions of children across America . and highly respected relief partners created this coalition in recognition of dire human needs and that when young people learn they can help improve the world they do so with idealism, passion and vigor.
